Shropshire Transition in Education Guidance (safeguarding children at educational transition points)

The Shropshire Transition in Education Guidance has been in place since Autumn 2025. The guidance and supporting templates have been developed to support education settings[1] and Shropshire Council Education Services to ensure the timely sharing of safeguarding information for all children and particularly children who would are also potentially at greater risk of experiencing harm than other children who don’t have the same needs and/or circumstances.

Shropshire Transition in Education Guidance is currently under review for 26-27 and will be finalised in the Autumn Term. A DRAFT version of the Guidance and Appendix 2: Enhanced Transition Summary Form have been placed on this page as interim guidance to support compliance with KCSIE and EYFS 2026 and align with the Schools Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy Template 2026-2027. These Drafts have not yet been agreed with the working group/Children’s Safeguarding Board.

[1] Education settings include: Ofsted registered early years and child providers, schools, colleges, and alternative education providers who provide childcare and/or education for children of all ages.
